1935 Royal Model O (Dvorak)
O-469095
This Royal O features a rare Dvorak keyboard. The Dvorak keyboard was patented in 1936 by Professor August Dvorak. The Dvorak keyboard is objectively superior to the QWERTY arrangement, which was used on the first commercially successful typewriter in the 1870s. Despite being faster and reducing typing errors, the Dvorak keyboard failed to gain traction. Interestingly enough, some people still swear by the Dvorak keyboard—and even the iPhone offers a Dvorak keyboard option.
